Project 2 -MOMMAE-

Our project's name is MOMMAE. We used 1'-0''=1/4'' measurements in our drawings and 1'-0''=1/8'' measurements in our model. We have exhibitions, a cafe and a restaurant inside the pier so people can get together, eat and take a look at the exhibitions.

 

Final Product -Project 1-

While designing this structure, I intended to block the sunlight coming from different directions by using geometric shapes and cuts for people who would like to sit under a shadow.

Folding in architecture

    Folding is an architectural design method which is based on mathematics, perspective and fragmentation. It was founded and developed by Masahiro Chatani, who is a Japanese architect. 
  
 We fold, curve, crumble, etc to turn 2D paper sheets into 3D objects. In my opinion, it widens the list of concepts and gives the buildings a fresh look. In my case, as an observer, also a creator, it made me think of many different types of buildings or rooftops and more, giving me lots of inspiration.
